wickedfleaSeems like it's been a long week, and it's only Tuesday.
I'll start my other job June 3. I think I'll be splitting time between marketing and editorial for a little while. I hope I won't have to do that until they find a replacement. I'm going to try to get a leg up on the jacket stuff so I won't be spread too thin in a couple of weeks.
I'm really excited about the new job; I think it's going to be great. Everyone in manuscript editorial seems nice, and several people over there have told me how glad they are that I'll be in the department. In fact, a lot of people from all over the press have called, emailed, or stopped by to congratulate me, and that has been really nice -- makes me feel appreciated and all that happy shit. My current bosses also have been totally cool about the whole thing; they're pleased that I'm staying at the press and will be able to do work that I'm more interested in.
I'm thinking about heading south in July for a bit of a vacation. I'd like to take advantage of the July 4th holiday so that I don't have to use so many of my vacation days. I should probably wait and go in August, when my mom's family has its family reunion, but to be honest, I'm not too interested in seeing all the members of my extended family -- just the more immediate ones. We'll see how it goes.
