another word that's driving me crazy

"Linkage." As in "We want to create a strong linkage between the school and the community." What's wrong with plain old link?

Yeah, come to think of it, I had problems with my own linkage one morning last week, but modern medicine cleared me right up.

Yeah! There was some association that I had a vague sense of but couldn't quite put my finger on, and I think Pauly Shore was it.
