they called each other "dude" and "man"
Mar. 26th, 2003 03:52 pmPardon me while I say:
Bird books! Bird books! bbbbbbbbbird books!
There's two of 'em I'm workin' on, and they're drivin' me crazy.
Actually, I've gotten some much-needed stuff done today, and I'm feeling pretty good for a change. For a few minutes, anyway. I just wish someone would turn off the goddamn HEAT up in this mug. I'm roasting over here!
I watched Igby Goes Down the other night and quite enjoyed it. It's kinda pretentious, but what the hell. People always say that like it has to be a bad thing. (BTW, what's the deal with rosscinema@juno.com's review on that imdb page? "While I was impressed with the acting and writing and the overall look of the film the black comedy and dark tone and theme make it impossible to embrace completely." Reminds me of the people in school who would say they didn't like certain books because the characters were immoral. So?!? That doesn't have anything to do with the merit of the book.)
Good night, how the frack did I get off on that? I dunno. And now for some reason I'm reminded of this article from a couple of years ago--which has nothing to do with anything, I don't think.
Oh yeah, I also picked up the new Allman Brothers album this weekend. I'd already heard all the songs live, but it still sounds pretty fresh. Good production.
I think Glenn Danzig is the finest lyricist the world has ever known. His Misfits stuff, I mean; he kinda ran out of ideas after his first solo album. Look at this stuff! Genius, I tell you, genius. Who else could come up with "the maggots in the iron lung won't copulate" AND "I will not sit on broken glass, not for you or anyone, I will not cut my fucking ass"?
