Jul. 16th, 2003 06:02 pmShit. Think I'm gonna stay at work for a while. Got hit w/ MORE pages from the magazine for--yep, you guessed it--a one-day turnaround. And I'm supposed to have a chapter of that other project edited by Friday, so I, um, probably need to start on that sometime. :/
A while back I wrote in general about people who are very sweet but quite stupid. Then there are the people who you also like, but all of a sudden you realize are FUCKIN' CRAZY. And then there are the spazzes. You would think spazzes would be immediately recognizeable, but it's not always so. Today I diagnosed a spaz's spazzitude after knowing him for probably a year.
This has absolutely nothing to do with any LJ folks, I swear. It's these nutty bastards at work. I've KNOWN you guys are nuts. ;-)
You mean this Metallica thing is REAL? It can't be, right? That's a damned dangerous precedent for Metallica to set, I think. If they can successfully sue someone for using E and F chords, then they're gonna get the GONADS sued off 'em by Tony Iommi. I heard they wrote a lot of their earlier songs by bashing through Sabbath tunes and reworking the riffs. I think that would be just hilarious if they got sued by every band that ever influenced them--Sabbath, the Misfits, Diamond Head, etc. They've even admitted that "Seek and Destroy" is basically a slightly changed version of a Diamond Head tune (can't remember which one).
I hate that band so much. I still think their first four albums (plus the original Garage Days Re-Revisited EP) were great, but I can't even listen to them anymore. Ever since the black album (Spinal Tap, anyone?) I feel betrayed. Does anyone here do hexes, spells, or whammies? I want them to lose all their money and have to get minimum-wage jobs at Taco Bell. And if they want to still be a band, they'll have to open for bands who play nothing but E and F chords all goddamn night. And the womens and girl-thangs will scorn them like dirty dogs.
It's never a good idea to convince yourself that yer own shit don't stink.

Jul. 16th, 2003 09:45 pmI still can't figure out this Metallica thing. It has to be a joke. The link I posted before goes to something at scoopthis.com, which I guess used to be a parody site but ceased operations. But the thing is that I went through the MTV site to see if it was true and still got that link. And MTV had it right up on the front page, too. But now there's no sign of it on MTV.com. And there was a statement on the Metallica site that I can't find now either. I wonder if MTV and Metallica got hacked? That'd be hilarious.
