This is kinda funny. The press has an office in London, and we got this email from them this morning.

Dear All

I am the receptionist at the Yale office in London - we have been sent a parcel containing car parts (for a Lexus) from a car company in East Haven. There is no addressee on the package, and no one over here has claimed it as their property. If you are the intended recipient, please let me know and I will post it on to you.

Scary, actually. I don't think I would have opened an unmarked package from 'staven.

I just got a call from MCI about a fantastic new calling plan that could save me oodles and oodles of money. Yes, here at work. I guess I forgot to add that number to the do-not-call list. Cripes. I didn't think I had to.

A couple of days ago I was walking through the parking lot by the music building and heard the marching band playing "Sympathy for the Devil." Kinda weird.

Kinda fun being in the middle of all the Red Sox-Yankees talk. New Haven has a lot of fans on both sides, so there's quite a bit of discussion. I haven't exactly named the Red Sox my team yet, but I've always hated the Yankees, so I'm definitely rooting for the Sox in this one. And I've pretty much dropped the Orioles as my American League team (Peter Angelos must die), so I should probably go ahead and just be a Sox fan. Also good to see the Cubs win.

Any suggestions on how to make fig newton costume? Preferably without the use of tights.

I wanna go to sleep.

I just glanced at my web stats and saw the URL sandiegozoo.com. And for a couple of seconds I thought, hmmm, Sandie Gozoo, that's a weird name.

Good lord. I just watched an old man get arrested for slicing a 16-year-old girl with a pocket knife after she ate all his bologna. Actually, I guess he managed to save a piece or two; he was eating a sandwich while the cops were arresting him.

Cable television, baby. I don't know why I ever gave it up.
