Oct. 30th, 2004 12:21 amBWARRRRGGH. I'm listening to Still Hungry, Twisted Sister's newly re-recorded version of Stay Hungry. And I dig it. The guitar tones, backing vocals, and especially Mark Mendoza's bass lines are much better than on the original recording. Dee Snider's vocals are missing a little something--some edge in his voice--but all in all, it's a lot of fun to hear. But I was just reading a review and was reminded that the original album came out TWENTY YEARS AGO. That's completely scary. Stay Hungry was the album that got me into metal. (Well, I'd been into KISS off and on since '77, but anyway.) Goddamn, KISS. I've been listening to KISS for almost THIRTY years. That's BEYOND scary.
