The morning and early afternoon were kind of a bummer today--we went to the Chelsea antiques market, where we found some good stuff and I got a lot of great photos last year, but today was rainy and ugly, so there were very few good photo opportunities and not a damn thing worth buying.

But although I didn't get to take any good photos, I did get to see a helluva lot of excellent ones at the Diane Arbus exhibit at the Met. I actually haven't known a lot about her, but goddamn, she did some great work. We spent probably a couple of hours at the museum, most of which was in the Arbus exhibition, and I got a copy of the Revelations exhibit catalogue, which is very nice to have.

From there, we came back to the hotel to catch our breath for a while, then got some pizza on our way over to see Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. We really enjoyed it--it's such a fantastic play, and they did a good job with it. I was quite impressed with Bill Irwin as George. I wasn't sure I was going to like him at first, because he plays George a good bit differently than Richard Burton did--but as the play went on, I really appreciated what he was doing. Kathleen Turner was also good; she didn't quite come off the brashness enough at times, but she was still very effective and didn't at all suck.

Then we went over to Joe Allen, had a nice dinner, and saw Christian Slater come in with some really skinny chick. Good times.

a few ehhhhh pictures I did manage to get today )
