Whew, I'm stuffed. One of the manuscript editors and her husband had a bunch of people over for Thanksgiving tonight, and it was a lot of fun. I always think about crapping out of things like that, but I'm glad I went. Good conversation, good people, and good food. And people raved about my sweet potatoes, made with pecans (puh-CAHNs, dammit) and brown sugar. (A Southerner can't cook anything without pecans and brown sugar.) And best of all, they don't have a television, so I didn't have to suffer the indignity of watching my team get beat in the Egg Bowl on national television. Yes, the Egg Bowl.

no TV!
you missed the Buffy marathon and the x-files marathon.
They were the greatest escape from my dull family gathering!

Hey, at least it wasn't the Dog Bowl. :)

Wasn't there a guy on Shimmy Disc Records with that name?

If I had to spend Thanksgiving with one of MY managing editors, I probably would have killed myself.

Heh. I'm lucky to have a great bunch of people to work with. I look around from time to time and think, "Is this REAL? Where are all the lunatics and assholes?!" I mean, each person is flaky in some sense, but there's a definite feeling that we're each other's flakes.
