(no subject)

I remember one time when I was about six years old and was playing with Evan Fager in his front yard. Evan's Dad came out on his way to the car and stopped to see what we were up to. He noticed that our shoes were untied, so he knelt down to tie them for us.

"I'll tie these shoes like a man from the ghetto," said Comb-over Man.

"GHETTO?" I thought. "What the fuck is he talking about?"

Twenty-five years later, I'm a lot wiser and more educated about the world, so of course now I look back on his words and think . . . "GHETTO? What the fuck was he talking about?"

I wonder how they tie shoes in the ghetto. Being that I live there, I should know... but I forget.

I guess the lesson is never let anyone with a combover tie your shoes? I'm confused now. You baffle me.

Yeah, I baffle me too. Comes with the territory.

Did he tie your shoes together and toss you over the power line?

Heh--I'll bet he would have liked to. :)
