Today Nancy and I were trading snarky emails (jokingly), and I ended up forwarding one to our whole department just so they could see how she abuses me. (They're accustomed to getting goofy emails from me.) So Nancy responded to me: "my god--i've just been fat-assed. i've never been on the other end of this. it's way cool."

Fat-assed? I don't think I've ever heard that usage. It sounds pretty cool, though, don't you think? I'm not sure exactly what it means, though.

I mean, "I've been okey-doked" is funny too, but that fat-assed... that is quite something.

Apparently it's a phrase that someone else in my department coined to refer to mistakenly emailing something to someone. Like you forward someone's email to another party with a comment at the top saying "Can you believe this asshole?"--but you accidentally copy the asshole you're talking about. :)

I like it. But I think it could have more wide-ranging uses. Like someone's holding up traffic, so you crane your neck out the window and yell, "Hey, buddy, ya wanna quit fat-assing it? I got places to be!!!"

Me too. It actually makes me think of this park that's near here called Hammonasset. It always makes me think of someone saying, "Yeah, the old lady just likes to sit around the house and ham-and-ass it." Whatever that means. :)
