heard on the bus this morning

Dan: Hey Mark, how ya doin'?

Mark: Hi, Dan. Good, thanks. Yourself?

Dan: fine, fine. Say, it was your name day the other day. St. Mark, you know. Hey, you know, I took your namesake out to dinner the other night. Yeah, Friday. He couldn't make it on Wednesday.

Mark: Oh yeah? Hey, how's your sister Cindy?

Dan: She disappeared. Yeah, we don't know where they are. She was up in Vermont and she just took off--didn't leave me no forwarding address or nothin'.

Mark: Oh, wow.

Dan: Yeah. So where are you living these days?

Mark: Up near Westville. You know . . . you know where Ruby St. is?

Dan: Oh, yeah, up near the cemetery, right? Yeah. I got married two years ago . . .

Mark: Oh, yeah? Hey!

Dan: Worst mistake I ever made.

Mark: Oh, I don't know about that . . .

Dan: . . . It's OK, I guess, if you like being tied up and beaten with a whip. Hey, keep the faith, all right?

Mark: Yeah, I'll see ya.

Yep, it was weird. It's something about the area of town I live in--there are a lot of weirdos around. (Actually, it might be something about ME--I seem to attract that sort.) But at least that means that I'm not the weirdest cat around. :)
