Did you ever have one of those moments where you realize something amazingly deep about the universe, and for a second everything makes sense and you understand something about the way the world works? And then you try to write it down and it's GONE. You can't articulate it for the life of you, and mentally retracing your steps doesn't work. You knew what it was all about for half a second and ya lost it, ya stupid schmuck, and now you're standing there in the kitchen with a goddamn ham sandwich in your hand. I hate when that happens.

i have morningdreams like that - they're big and long and detailed and i reember them perfectly, yet when i try to write them down all i get is "there was somthing about a restaraunt and a back door... oh, and penguins!"

Yeah, same sort of thing! And you can never capture why the penguins are important, and when you try to figure out what restaurant it was, it gets all confused . . . Arrrggh!

the worst part is getting random flashes and images of what it was but not being able to put them back together.

I get ideas like that just as I'm about to fall asleep sometimes. Argh. Too bad there isn't a way to take a 3 dimensional screen shot of your thoughts.

ARRRGGGHHH! I can't keep perpetuating this LIE!!! It's killing me! THERE WAS NO HAM SANDWICH!!! I made that part of it up. I thought it lent a certain poignant mundanity to the story, but now I realize that I've sacrificed my integrity with this cheap ruse! How can I expect to achieve enlightenment if I keep resorting to such subterfuge?!?

Heehee, I usually get those when I can't sleep and I have been trying all sorts of methods to go to bed and nothing works, so my mind starts to wonder and ponder life, well then I usually fall asleep and don't remember anything that I came up with...at least you still had the sandwich...any tomatoes?

Hi--thanks for saying hello! Those deep thoughts always come at the worst time--late at night. You're sitting there needing to think, and your brain decides to start thinking weird shit! But then when you're wide awake, you can never think of anything good to say. That's the way it happens with me, anyway. :)

I'm convinced that we aren't supposed to know such things and we certainly aren't supposed to define and PRINT such secrets. You almost created a terrible rift in the cosmic rule and would have probably been erradicated if your attempt was successful. Thank goodness that you lost it!

You know, you're right! At the very least I would have been transformed into one of those homeless mystic types who accost people on the street and try to school them on the meaning of life--which wouldn't be a bad gig, but I could never stomach the cheap wine those guys have to drink all the time. Keep me clueless and clean, thank you very much. ;)
