What do you call quickie marts? I always called them superettes, because in the town I grew up in there's a bunch of them all owned by one guy, and they're all called Northgate Superette or Green Oaks Superette or whatever. But several years ago I became aware that most people don't call them that, so it might just be a Starkville thing. Now I have to stop and think what to call it so people will know what I'm talking about. I guess I usually say "quick stop."
Speaking of that, I miss superettes. In the South, I always drove everywhere, and I used to stop in superettes at least a couple of times a day to get Cokes or smokes or Screw magazines or whatever. Oh yeah, and fucking BEER like a madman when I still drank. But up here I drive much less, get gas at the supermarket, and bring back several cartons of cigarettes from home when I go, so I never have to go. And if I have to get something quick, I usually stop in at a CVS or Walgreen's for some reason. Yep, I miss the B-Quik beat.

In Chicago they were called White Hen Pantry (we called it The Country Chicken) or Walgreen’s.
Here, in Arizona we have Circle K or what is commonly referred to as the Circle Jerk.
Personally, I call them: The Quickie Mart, Gas-n-Sip or the Drive-thru Brew.

if you ending up moving to NYC you'll start as well. that's what they are there. bodega. I think it's Puerto Rican for "corner store". and it isn't to be confused with a deli (which is like a bodega but has a salad bar, usually.) Bodegas have necessities and also hot breakfast and sandwich type foods.
in VA we had 7-11s; in NJ there are Wa-Was.
Here in Pittsburgh they are basically newstands with drink coolers.
RI'isms
7-11 (I wasn't just a customer, I was a clerk!)
cumberland farms (or Cumby's if your a native)
Dairy mart (they sucked)
and sunnybrook farms... (also sucky)
we called 7-11 "sevs"
now I live near tedeschi's. We call them "T's"
heh this reply was going somewhere but i don't know where.

In Florida, we had the "Farm Stores" which were a building a tad bigger than a fotomat (http://cloud13.com/art/photography/images/big/fotomat.jpg) and you would drive up to them and tell the person what you needed...from soda to cigs, never have to leave your car. I used to go in my PJ's in the morning --
