There's this line I love from American Movie (which you should all watch if you haven't). Mark Borchardt is going through his bills and letters from collection agencies, and he's all bummed out about his finances, and then he opens another letter and it's a MasterCard. And he's so happy, and he says, "Life is kinda cool sometimes."

Best line is when Mark asks Mike to remember to ask if everyone has gloves for the shoot, and Mike just yells it out right there.

Yeah, I live in Milwaukee and my brother is a film major at UW and works with Mark when he needs help on projects. I guess Mark and Mike don't hang out anymore cause he wouldn't pay him to be in his movies or something.

I love that whole sequence too. The first couple of times I watched the movie, I kept rewinding it and watching it again. The part with Mark's mother just killed me--where he keeps repeating: "I'm doomed. I'm doomed! I'm doomed." And the bit with Mike's soda: "Could you get that soda--my soda--and hold it so it doesn't freeze, cause I'd like to drink it later?" Dude loves his soda, man!

I'm so jealous that you met Mark! Maybe one day . . . *sigh*

I know! But somehow I think they'll be all right. He obviously loves them. I love the scene where his daugher says "shit."

I love Mike too. I need to buy his tape of songs--he sells it on the website. His phone number's also on there, so you can call him up! I've never done it, though. I want to start a band with him--we could play "Were They going Insane?" Did you ever hear Mark and Mike talking about that? They argue about whether Mike stole his song from Black Sabbath's "Am I Going Insane?" Oh yeah, it's in the movie! But I've heard them talk about it elsewhere--either in the bonus material or in an interview on the web or something. Hilarious!
