Someone mentioned "Be Aggressive" yesterday, and I can already tell I'm going to be on a huge Faith No More and Mr. Bungle kick--which is good because I just got Bungle's California in the mail!

Funny thing with music. I go through periods when I don't really listen to it--it's like I forget. Maybe here and there, in the car mostly. Yet I'll be thinking about music and copying it and trading it and all that, but I'm just not actively listening. And then I'll go through a time when everything sounds so good to me. I'm in one of those right now, which is excellent.

Top five albums of the moment (ever-changing):

Faith No More -- Angel Dust. Listened to "Be Aggressive" and the cover of the Midnight Cowboy theme on the way in this morning. Amazing stuff.

Led Zeppelin -- In Through the Out Door and Presence. Two albums, but I'll count them as one because I think of them together as the Zep albums I've listened to the least (save for Coda and Song Remains the Same, which I hardly count). But there's some really good stuff on both. Not too crazy about "Hot Dog," though. It's the kind of thing that would be a hoot in concert but feels kind of silly on an album.

Ace Frehley's self titled solo album from the KISS days. Shaddup. I've been digging this album since the first day it came out over 25 years ago. I haven't been doing anything for 25 years! It's just good, stupid, kick-ass '70s rock. But not as stupid as a lot of '70s rock, which certainly was not lacking for stupidity.

S.O.D. -- Speak English or Die. Incredible crossover stuff with reprehensible lyrics. They're supposed to be jokes making fun of bigots and the like, but sometimes I wonder about Billy Milano. A lot of times he seems like he believes what he's saying. But every faux-hardcore band out there now just wishes they could come up with riffs this meaty.

Frisky Sluts -- Hot Naughty Girls Receiving Enormous Dicks Greek Style Until They Groan. Wait, that's a spam I just got. OK, so I'm out of time, but that's five after all if you count both Zep albums.

Gimme your top five of the moment!
