I'm trying to remember the name of a book and author, and it's driving me nuts. I have the book and have read part of it, but it's misplaced right now. It's very similar to David Sedaris--funny, sort of memoiry but nutty personal essays. In fact Sedaris has a blurb on the back cover. One of the early essays involves the author going on a camping trip (I think), and he hates it because he's not the outdoor sort. I think he's gay (not because of the outdoor thing, just because I think he mentions it in the book). And I want to say there was another one about working in an ice-cream parlor, and he talks about the King of Greece or some shit. The cover of the paperback (dunno about the cloth) is red, with a one-word title (I think) scrawled across it in a faux-scandlous manner. I was thinking the word was "naked," but that can't be it because that's the Sedaris book. Arrgggh. Any help?

update: whew, found it. David Rakoff's Fraud. Thought I was never going to remember. Thanks [livejournal.com profile] zoe!
