Sep. 14th, 2003 08:23 pmWhere'd my doggone weekend go? Just where'd it GO, for crying out loud? I just totally lost Saturday. Totally.
I did have a nice afternoon today with the LiveJournal expatriate formerly known as
elizalouwho. We bummed around downtown, drank big-ass coffees, and did our normal shopping for used books, CDs, and hipster bargains at Urban Outfitters. She still wouldn't help me smuggle the vintage Donkey Kong machine out of Urban Outfitters, though. Females always try to come off all hardcore and shit (or not), but when it comes right down to it they're never down for the serious business of swiping Donkey Kong machines. Pffft. Goils.
Speaking of vintage video games, I've been on a big MAME kick lately. I've been playing a lot of, errrrm, Ms. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga, and Punch-Out! Bad-ass games all.
But the REALLY cool thing I've come across lately is the pinball table emulation scene. These crazy bastards have gotten ahold of the software that runs pinball machines and come up with simulations of the tables. Last night I was playing very realistic and faithful versions of Fish Tales, Black Rose, The Addams Family, Hurricane, Lethal Weapon 3--all those kick-ass pinball machines I used to play.
God HELL, I sound like a nerd. But I have no idea how to redeem myself at this point.

Date: 2003-09-14 06:20 pm (UTC)I am in a massive craving for meat pies. They are having a meat pie festival in Natchitoches this coming week and I am longing for some fried pie goodness. I may try to make some, but it's not the same as just sitting there buying them and stuffing them in your pie hole.
The Festival...
