Nice weekend. Saturday I didn't do a whole lot 'cuz I felt somewhat less than sunshine fresh, but yesterday I made the trek up the coast to Newport, RI, to hang with my old pal

dangerpest and my new cronie

nonamejane. She's a native of the island and knows all the hot spots where young, hep cats like us can catch a few good, clean thrills. Seriously, it is stunningly beautiful up there.

nonamejane describes it as the most beautiful place she's ever seen, and I can't argue. It's so serene out there--quite different from the beaches in Florida, which, as we discussed yesterday, are generally are pretty tawdry. Much fun was had traipsing through the oceanfront, exploring off-limits attractions (always the best kind), and enjoying signature Rhode Island treats such as frozen lemonade, chourico, and the inimitable Awful Awful. The weather cooperated quite nicely; beautiful sky with some kick-ass-crazy clouds, which always make for nice photos.

Speaking of photos, I'll post some right here before your very eyes. Thanks for the last one to pest, who took my pic when I could not, as I was busy, you know, sitting for it. Photos of my companions may follow if I obtain proper security clearance. ;)

Enjoyed it big-time, kids. I'm eagerly looking forward to the next stop on the tour. :)

Thanks! I've just gotten out of the habit, I guess--kinda busy with preparing for, going on, and recovering from vacation. But I'll try to be around more. :)

I sort of noticed when I was writing this that something was a little off, but I didn't know what it was or what to do about it. I think the main difference is that there's a total dearth of the words "fuck," "shit," and "dogballs." I'm as stumped by this as anyone.

Oh yeah, almost forgot! An Awful Awful is a heavy-duty ice-cream/milkshake kinda deal served at the Newport Creamery. We had jimmies in 'em. Crazy good stuff.

Yeah, I know--they told me the jimmies were the best part and I thought, "What?!?" But they are damned good. =)

The mere after effects of a RI diet. Ice coffee, Frozen lemonade, One Awful Awful,some fresh seafood and Chourico (shore-reese). It takes years to build up the ability to function correctly after ingesting the above items, but Flea showed a real determination that would make his home state proud.;]
