I still need suggestions on how to make a proper fig newton costume, folks. I'm dyin' ovah heah. Any seamstresses (or seamsters) out there? My one attempt at costume sewing was a total disaster. Mike Boyd and I were supposed to be a mangy dog, but we were mistaken for a cow. (I think that's the way it was, though maybe it was the other way around. Either way, it was quite embarassing.) Read all about it.

I saw that pic you posted once from when you were on the Reflector staff. It was like JCrew or something...anyway I saw it today in McDavid's office and I thought of you.

Ha. I'd forgotten about Stymie. Ah, good times.

That's funny! I stopped by to see Ms. McDavid when I was in Vegas last month and noticed that picture too. I like ol' Frances--she's a good one. :)

I saw Stymie's husband while I was home for vacation, and he was very nice--asked how I was and what I was doing these days. And I thought I should probably tell him to tell Stymie hello, but I couldn't think of her damned NAME! "Stymie" was all I could think of, and I didn't think it would go over very well to tell him, "Give Stymie my best!" Probably would have given her a nasty PTSD fit. =)

Either that or a Little Rascals flashback.

I really have been thinking about this Fig Newton thing. Wouldn't it be easier to be a *package* of Fig Newtons? You could outline the Newtons on a box big enough to wear, cut out head and arm holes (leave the bottom open for your legs) and cover the whole thing with clear plastic, like visqueen or window plastic, and print out the labelling and glue it to that.

If your dream is to be a large Newton, though, I'd suggest soft sculpture, just a big soft beige rectangle with a brown top and bottom.

It would be soooo much easier to be an Oreo, dude.

I laughed through that whole story... god I wish I went to school with you. We would have turned that school inside out yo!

Why don't you smear Nutella all over yourself and jump between two slices of wheat bread - voila - you're a Fig Newton.

Noooooo, no Oreos! I must be a Fig Newton! But you're right about it being easier to be a package of Newtons. We might try to work that out. =)

LOL... it would be a better joke if you were a brother in an Oreo outfit ;-)
