I'm hongry and buzy. Somebody bring me a muffaletta so I don't have to go out. Actually, I'd walk about a mile for some muffaletta right about now.

...and I'd walk 2 miles for a *real* shrimp po boy!

Ooooooh yeah! Oyster po-boy for me, though. Or maybe raw oysters followed by a shrimp po-boy... :)

Wooo! Yeah, raw w/some Tabasco and a cold beer for me!

[identity profile] dj-daeva.livejournal.com 2004-02-25 09:17 am (UTC)(link)

a big hunk of awesome bread with olive salad on it and assorted lunch meats and provelone cheese. it's to DIE for! the key is the bread and the olive salad.

It's a really delicious sandwich that originated in New Orleans with salami, cappicola, prosciutto, sometimes pepperoni, provalone, mortadella, green and black olives, pimentos, stuff like that. It's so damn yummy!!!

[identity profile] cierrablue.livejournal.com 2004-02-25 09:11 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yum. And it was just fat tuesday too.

[identity profile] wickedflea.livejournal.com 2004-02-25 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
Now I'm sooooo wishing I could go to New Orleans. (Doesn't take much to put me in that mood!) Wish I could make Jazz Fest in the spring, but I'm gonna have to put it off another year at least. Damn living in the Northeast!

That reminds me of an old George Carlin routine:

"I'd walk a mile for a Camel!"

. . . but wouldn't you really rather have a Buick?

[identity profile] wickedflea.livejournal.com 2004-02-25 10:06 am (UTC)(link)
Yeaaaaaah! I was actually thinking of that routine when I wrote that. The way he says it is just the best!

I've been meaning to ask you...

[identity profile] buscemi.livejournal.com 2004-02-25 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Where did you get that line, "I have a fascinating set of snake hips"?

Re: I've been meaning to ask you...

[identity profile] wickedflea.livejournal.com 2004-02-25 02:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the "snake hips" part comes from the Jerky Boys. Sounds like something Sol Rosenberg would say, anyway: "My wife calls me snake hips." Actually, I dunno if they really ever said it, but it's like them. The "fascinating" part, at least, is just something I came up with.

What's funny is that there's an LJ user who's written a book about belly dancing called Snake Hips! Can't remember her username, but I think she's a friend of [livejournal.com profile] carocrow.

Damn shame I didn't read this earlier... I was stuffing my face with muffaletta at lunch until I could eat no more. I couldn't eat another bite after having eaten 5 of them... so the other 5 I threw in the trash...

that I'd like to see!

[identity profile] wickedflea.livejournal.com 2004-02-25 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
You, my dear, obviously have never seen a muffaletta. :)

Tell me that no muffalettas were harmed in the making of this comment. Please.
