the rev, I now have a Gmail account, which is kinda cool because I can slap a forward from my regular account to the gmail one and be able to check it from anywhere and not worry about having to delete anything. Anyway, the weird thing is that it doesn't work on my desktop at home in IE. Works fine in Mozilla, and on IE on my other computers. But when I load it in IE on that machine, I can log in fine, but when the inbox comes up, none of the links work, so I can't open any messages or do anything. Kinda weird. I wondered if it might be related to javascript or maybe a pop-up blocker, but it doesn't look like it.
Anyway.
I needed a little Southern flavor last night, so I thawed a homemade pecan pie from Christmas and had a big piece. Good stuff.
So yeah, I'm bummed about not getting to move back close to home. Until this job came up, I hadn't really let myself get too homesick--but when it did, I found that I really did want to go back, so it stung to get that close and have it fall through. Ah well, there's no use crying over spilt mitochondria. You can't get every job you apply for, and this is the first one I've pursued in a while. So if I keep looking and keep active, something good will happen. Or so Stuart Smalley told me.
A free gmail invite (if and when I get one; I think they'll start showing up soon) to the first person to identify the source of the mitochondria thing.
