I'm watching Julien Donkey-Boy. I think I liked Gummo better, which is strange considering I didn't think I'd ever say I liked Gummo better than anything. Actually, I've never been able to figure out if I like or dislike Gummo; I have a suspicion that it's garbage, but it's so fucking weird that it's strangely compelling.

Gummo is great. I liked Julien Donkey Boy decently enough, but nowhere as near as much as Gummo. Harmony Kormine is a genius when you realize that what he's really doing is making horror films. Gummo terrified me.

I'm with ya on the being terrified by Gummo thing. That movie really disturbed me... I was talking about it for weeks. I had to see it several times before I could wrap my head around it at all.

I'm going to make a copy of Donkey-boy and try again later... I wasn't really devoting my full attention to it.

Yeah, the "Like a Prayer" scene rules. And the chair-fighting scene. And the kids in the junkyard. And the spaghetti in the bathtub. And... oh, well, shit. OK, I dig Gummo. There, I've said it. It still makes me cry big honkin' tears of confusion, though...
