Movie-line answers:
1. "We're old friends of Debbie's. I used to romp with her." Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Dr. Gonzo says it when he and Raoul Duke are trying to get into Debbie Reynolds's show.

8. "Who's there?" "It's the mad rapist." River's Edge. It's when Layne (Crispin Glover) is tapping on Clarissa's bedroom window. He actually just wants some money, of course.

Weird dreams last night. One involved a portal to another time and/or place that I found behind a painting in an antiques store. Very Malkovichesque. Another involved a dry hump in Domino's Pizza. Very strange--I don't even like Domino's.

I saw that episode of Surreal Life last night. I wished someone else had been there to share the pure ridiculousness of the show. It was excellent.

Rock! Yeah, it's hilarious even alone, but it's the best to laugh at it with someone else. I had a phone call of 20 minutes the other night where my friend and I did nothing but watch Verne's drunkenness and laugh uproariously. I don't think we exchanged more than about ten words--just sat there and laughed with each other!

I KNEW IT. I knew that rapist one was River's Edge - I just got that DVD for my birthday and watched it like twice. I can't believe I missed that.

This just made me think of something you'd enjoy listening to.

I can't watch that thing of yours... but I have to say that the whole idea of naked midgets just squicks me enormously, no offense to any naked midgets who might happen to be lurking on your FL.

God damn it, I read this entry before the first one. I totally would have gotten the Fear and Loathing quote.

Hahaha! I still can't stop. And it still makes me laugh so hard that I think I'm going to rupture something or pass out. It's truly dangerous!

Oh, man. I did appreciate that piece. Mostly because eating with my father elicits the same reaction from me.

I thought SOMEONE would have to know it, and I should have known that you would! BTW, do you remember that your first LJ comment to me said that you and I were the only people with "gonzo journalism" listed as an interest?

Look now: http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?int=gonzo+journalism

Hope you're doing well!

I guess I'm lucky to have had quiet parents with table manners. But my *stepfather*... he was a two fisted eater, smacking and slurping and double dipping his way across the table and feeding the dog underneath it.

*shudder*

It was like sharing a meal with Henry VIII.
