OMG it's bad. We dodged the blast over here, but it's pretty awful down along the Gulf. I haven't gotten hold of anybody yet but I've been seeing Covington/Mandeville and all around the MS coast (where we were planning to move) on the news for two days and it looks like shyte.

Bleargh. I guess there was a good reason we couldn't afford to move this year.

You may find this strange, but I've lived in this state all my life, but never been to New Orleans... Baton Rouge and Denham Springs several times (via the ex-wife), but not New Orleans.

Shit, shit, shit, it's bad. The coast highway (90) is *GONE*. Half of the oceanfront from Ocean Springs to Biloxi/Gulfport is *GONE*. There are cars and boats pushed up the the Interstate. People wandering around in the streets.

Bad thing is, they don't have a full death toll yet. I have a feeling it will be getting worse before it gets better; you know that whole area was poor to begin with.
