Finally made it home from Providence, no thanks to traffic standstills around East Haven. Did I mention that I-95 sucks crotch?

Tonight I got to see Glenn Danzig sing a set of Misfits tunes with Doyle on guitar. I can die happy now--and I just might, judging from the growing knot on my head that I got when someone in the pit headbutted me during "Die, Die, My Darling." I also got kicked in the nuts and almost broke my shoulder when some musclehead cat shoved me into a guard rail, but it was all worth it.

Let's see if I can remember the Misfits songs they played: 20 Eyes, Astro Zombies, Skulls, Mommy, Can I Go Out and Kill Tonight?, Earth A.D., We Are 138, and Die, Die, My Darling. Seems like I'm forgetting something. Oh yeah, Last Caress!

The solo Danzig stuff was also pretty fun. I didn't know the first few songs, but most of the stuff after that was from the first couple of albums, so it was all good.

I'm taking tomorrow (today) off because I have a free day for my birthday that I haven't taken yet. Now if I can only get to sleep despite my bleeding ears.

I remember when some mohawked guy in a Danzig shirt slammed into my back when I was in the pit. I remember falling to my knees for a few seconds. No harm done, though. I'm glad you're ok, mang.

It was sort of a glancing blow, really. It went mostly off my hip, but got enough of my boys to make me gasp and say, "Whoa, that was REALLY close."

But I still would have taken it full-on for "We Are 138."

Yeah, I pretty much retired from the middle of the pit years ago, so it's been a long time since I got knocked down, though of course that was always my worst fear. Last night, I spent most of the show at the back of the frontmost floor area (the venue is a little weird), so I had a rail to hold on to as I pushed people away from me. I got into the scrum during "Die, Die," though, and sure enough, a minute in, BAM, headbutt.

I almost got slammed into a railing when I saw Naked Raygun in Chicago. Everyone started pushing, and I stopped myself just in time. Doh.
