Check this out. A couple of years ago I found a copy of In Cold Blood for two bucks at a book sale at the Westport library. I'd never read it (and, um, still haven't), so I got it. It's in good shape except for the jacket, and it's a second printing.

Look at the inscription inside:

After I got home from seeing Capote the other night, I pulled out the book and checked the inscription again. Turns out it was from the dudes who made this documentary. Kinda cool, no?

Damn! I can only imagine how much that's worth now. By the way, do you know of any sites that specialize in movie soundtracks? I've been trying to find the one for In Cold Blood, but so far no dice. (It was written by Quincy Jones. What little I've heard is spooky as shit, even though it was just vocals and piano.)

Hmmmm, offhand I don't. :\ Seems like that should be out there somewhere, though!

I have and have read the book, got a hardcover copy from "Book Of The Month Club" in the late 1980's... not as valuable as your copy though.

Its a great book, we had to read it in high school (oh so very long ago). I am sure now its insights would be much better played than to some 15 year old kid who is pissed about having to write a book report.

I do remember years later remembering various partso of the book though and always thought a trip to Lawrence would be interesting.

Nice find by the way!
