Wow. If you're anything of a Neil Young fan at all, try to see Neil Young: Heart of Gold if it comes near you. If you're not a Neil Young fan, well, you'll probably wanna skip it. :P

I've been on an insane movie tear. This year I've seen these movies in the theater:

Hostel
Brokeback Mountain
The Chronicles of Narnia
Capote
Walk the Line
The World's Fastest Indian
Match Point
The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada
Transamerica
Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story
Neil Young: Heart of Gold

This is very scrange, as I usually go to about one movie a year.

I haven't seen none of them.

:sigh:

:sigh:

Oh well. Soon they will all be on DVD and I can watch them and care for the kiddo at the same time.

I never knew you were a Neil Young fan, for some reason. Oh, you what? Whenever I read about Government Mule, I'm reminded of you. (No, I'm not saying you bear any resemblance to a mule or the government. :P)

Saw Neil on the Daily Show the other night. He was pretty funny. And apparently, Jon Stewart's a fan.

How was "Transamerica"?

I haven't been inside a theater since taking my son to see the first "Toy Story" in 1995. I usually just wait till the movies show up on one of the movie channels.

It's actually a concert film culled from some shows he did at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. He does his latest album in its entirety and then some of his other countryish stuff. It's directed by Jonathan Demme and is beautifully filmed.

Yeah, I've usually been like that, but I'm rediscovering that there's really something to be said for the big screen.

Transamerica was fun! Very enjoyable, and Felicity Huffman was excellent. I liked it a lot.

Yeah, Neil is actually one of my very favorite musicians. And coincidentally, it was hearing a live Gov't Mule cover of "Southern Man" that really got me into them. :)
