Senate set to reject same-sex marriage ban

"I don't believe there's any issue that's more important than this one," said Republican Sen. David Vitter.

You have GOT to be kidding me. Please?

If he's serious, his state needs to be looking elsewhere for representation. I kept wanting someone to stand up in Congress and list all of the serious problems in the states of senators pushing this legislation--you know, the things they should actually be focusing on, like poverty, homelessness, better quality food in public schools, revising emergency plans, fixing FEMA, including companion animals in evacuation procedures, making prescription drugs affordable, universal health care, the NSA Wiretapping situation, an exit strategy for Iraq...

Exactly. If that's not grounds for removal, I'll eat my hat. I mean, come ON. And he's from Louisiana, for fuck's sake!!! He's gonna tell me that's the most important thing they have to worry about?!?

he's not kidding. he really thinks that is the most important issue. why? because he's a shithead with his head so far up his ass (which is why he's a shithead) that he can't see the infinite number of issues that are far more important than this one.

i. hate. people.
(sometimes...and usually just asshats like this. so really it should be i. hate. some. people.

yeah.)

As John Stewart mentioned last night, the gay marriage ban evidently is the most important issue during EVEN years... that would have anything to do with the fact that EVEN years co-incide with elections? The idea is to get stupid fucks to vote for politicians on "HOT" issues like gay marriage, forgetting the real problems of dying kids in Iraq and Afganistan, the price of oil, and our crappy economy (in spite of what Shrub Co. is saying.) I don't know who I dislike more, the idiot politicians who bring it up when it's convenient, or the fucking idiots who KEEP voting them into office. BTW, David Vitter was nowhere around during Katrina but had the audacity to criticize Sen Mary Landrieu who was.... go fizzure....

If that doesn't work (and it won't), he'll probably go on and on about how flag-burning is the greatest problem in the U.S. ;)

Wait, wait. What about banning abortions? Kicking poor people off welfare? Killing Ay-rabs?

C'mon, people. Get your priorities in order.

Personally, I think ALL marriage should be banned...

Look... this is how F'd LA is... while all this Katrina stuff has been going on, they have been busy in the LA Legislature cramming conservative bills through, like an anti-abortion law. While everyone had their backs turned, the local government in NOLA opened up a giant landfill they couldn't get approved when everyone was there.

Where is me some Huey Long, I ask ya?
