I am getting out of it for the weekend, though--I'm headed to New Haven to see my friends at Yale Press and then to Rhode Island to see Michelle, Brian, and Kenzlee. Life is good. :D

I thought she was holding some kind of multicolored toy snakes, and almost dropped my bowl of tasty Panera tomato soup when I figured out what was going on.

The band is pretty cool, though.

It was crazy. I saw those things and was like HOLY FUCKING SHIT and went into stalkerazzi mode, plotting how I was gonna lean over the seat and get a shot of them. Then I thought, well jeez, she's been growing the fuckers for years, so she's obviously proud of them--so I asked her, "Excuse me--do you mind if I take a picture of your fingernails? Because they're like they coolest thing I've ever seen." And she was all, SURE! They're completely gross, but truly a sight to behold.
