I'm now downloading what must be every episode ever made of Beavis and Butt-Head. You can find anything and everything on usenet; you people relying on file-sharing programs are suckers.

I slept for about twelve hours last night and woke up feeling better than I have in a week or so. I'm still congested and coughing, but I think I've finally turned the corner and started coming around toward normalcy.

The book that I decided last night to write (yeah, I was serious about that) still seems like a good idea today, so now the only thing to do is to do it. It's gonna be awesome. But I can't talk about it -- I don't want to fuck up the process.

...but I don't trust files posted to Usenet. With all those flamewars going on, there's bound to be someone putting viruses out there.

It's not that bad if you know what you're doing. As far as I know, there's no way to put a virus into a video or audio file. And you'd be surprised -- in the groups where people post CD images of actual software, they tend to self-police pretty well. I keep my antivirus software updated and haven't had a problem.

Oh, yeah -- big-time. I guess it does seem kind of weird, but it works pretty well.

a close relative of mine has been burning stuff from there too... he already has the new austin powers movie. a bit pixelated he says, but still good.
