The guy who I always get whenever I report a computer problem (which is very seldom; I usually deal with it myself) is a total idiot. Worse, he's a total idiot who thinks that everyone ELSE is a total idiot. And he's almost deaf (seriously), so that doesn't help matters at all. I'm telling the guy, listen, my hard drive is dying. It keeps cutting off and spinning back up again, and I know that sound. It's dying. He's like, "Oh, no, you can't tell by the sound of it." Yeah, YOU can't, because you're fucking deaf! Cripes.

My old drive made this rattling noise near the CD-Rom player. Sure enough, it died a few weeks later. This was the replacement drive for one that I took in to be repaired. At least it didn't cost me anything. Those extended warranties actually come in handy sometimes.

Yeah, that's the one good thing about Seagate -- their warranties outlast their drives. I wonder what kind this one is. I could probably yank it out and have it replaced myself by the time I could convince this guy to gimme another one.
