The guy who I always get whenever I report a computer problem (which is very seldom; I usually deal with it myself) is a total idiot. Worse, he's a total idiot who thinks that everyone ELSE is a total idiot. And he's almost deaf (seriously), so that doesn't help matters at all. I'm telling the guy, listen, my hard drive is dying. It keeps cutting off and spinning back up again, and I know that sound. It's dying. He's like, "Oh, no, you can't tell by the sound of it." Yeah, YOU can't, because you're fucking deaf! Cripes.

Most of the IT people I deal with are the same way. I usually call a friend of mine, who is an IT person at another random company. He is usually more helpful over the phone than the goons around here.

Right on. That's why I never call our guy! But now, even when I've diagnosed the problem for him, he still won't put a new drive in! I should just go ahead and fry this thing.
