I think I've made my first step toward becoming a New Englander: I've decided that I really like Funkin' Gonuts Dunkin' Donuts coffee. Scary.

If anyone has any doubts about these people's lust for Dunkin' Donuts, just check out the map below, which shows the first 36 Dunkin' Donuts locations near my house. All of these are within 6.5 miles from my place -- and that's just the first 36; any more busts the map.

that's a whole lotta munchkins, yo

Gahhhhhhhh. It's one of those weeks when I feel like I'm about to go apeshit -- too many things coming at me all at once. I feel like I've been playing catch-up all week, and every time I feel like I'm somewhat caught up, something else comes up. Plus, I have to take care of a lot of things for other editors when they're gone, and of course we've got about half the staff here this week. Every five minutes someone from production throws a stack of pages at me and says, "Well, it's Thingfish's project, but he's out today and it's a super rush, so here." I'm supposed to meet with my boss tomorrow to give her an update on where all my books stand -- which means that I have to figure all that out today or tomorrow, 'cause I don't have a clue right now.

Also, I'm supposed to meet tomorrow with an author about a freelance project I'm doing for him, and I ain't EVEN gonna be finished with that.

Sorry to bitch so much, but this IS LiveJournal, right right? Right right.

I've given up work for today. It just ain't payin' off. And since I stopped working ten minutes ago, not a single person has bothered me. There's some sort of lesson here, but my brain is too addled to sort through it right now.

Further research has revealed that there are fifty-eight Dunkin' Donuts locations within ten miles of my apartment and THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-SIX within fifty miles. This fascinates me to no end. I'll bet there weren't that many businesses of any kind within fifty miles of my place in Starkville. Well, maybe just barely.

Important poll time.

[Poll #58212]

update: whoa, unanimous so far. I've never understood why anyone would keep num lock off. I mean, you've got separate keys for arrows, home, end, page up, and all that. But I can always tell when my mom has been using my computer, because she always turns it off, and my boss did the same thing when she was showing me something on my computer today. Weird.

My head has felt like I'm seasick all day today. I think it has something to do with the two sleeping pills I took last night, the unheard-of ten hours of sleep I got, or the gallon and a half of Funkin' Gonuts coffee I drank today. Or perhaps someone dosed the Kool-Aid at the union meeting last night. Stinkin' commies.
