Motown singer Edwin Starr dies of heart attack

I have a question. Did the band named War have anything to do with the song named "War"? I always thought it was done by "Edwin Starr and War," but now I can't find anything to back that up. In fact, after looking around allmusic.com a bit, I've determined that I must have been dead wrong; it looks like it was just Edwin Starr. I coulda sworn I'd seen "War -- Edwin Starr and War" scroll by on those TV ads for '70s compilation albums. Oh well, I guess I'm on crack. I did always think it was weird that the songs "War" and "Low Rider" could have been done by the same people.

I'm listening to the Jesus Lizard again; today it's the live album Show. David Yow's stage raps kill me. For instance, just check out "Killer McHann." That's got to be the best song intro of all time. Way better than Paul Stanley's tired-ass "Love Gun" intro. But even better is the part at the end of the track. I beg you to listen to it. If you can't understand what's being said, here's a transcript:
