Motown singer Edwin Starr dies of heart attack

I have a question. Did the band named War have anything to do with the song named "War"? I always thought it was done by "Edwin Starr and War," but now I can't find anything to back that up. In fact, after looking around allmusic.com a bit, I've determined that I must have been dead wrong; it looks like it was just Edwin Starr. I coulda sworn I'd seen "War -- Edwin Starr and War" scroll by on those TV ads for '70s compilation albums. Oh well, I guess I'm on crack. I did always think it was weird that the songs "War" and "Low Rider" could have been done by the same people.

The Band named War did the song "War", and Edwin Starr Also did it, as well as Springsteen.

It was written by Written By "Norman Whitfield & Barrett Strong" and first released by Edwin Starr (not Edwin Starr and War) in 1966...

Whitfield and Strong wrote alot of songs that I didnt know they wrote - alot of Motown-y stuff like "Cant get next to you" and "I Heard it Through the Grapevine"

No, hehe, I'm not related to Casey Kasum... Just think I am. ;)
