good god, y'all
Apr. 3rd, 2003 10:41 amMotown singer Edwin Starr dies of heart attack
I have a question. Did the band named War have anything to do with the song named "War"? I always thought it was done by "Edwin Starr and War," but now I can't find anything to back that up. In fact, after looking around allmusic.com a bit, I've determined that I must have been dead wrong; it looks like it was just Edwin Starr. I coulda sworn I'd seen "War -- Edwin Starr and War" scroll by on those TV ads for '70s compilation albums. Oh well, I guess I'm on crack. I did always think it was weird that the songs "War" and "Low Rider" could have been done by the same people.

Whitfield and Strong wrote alot of songs that I didnt know they wrote - alot of Motown-y stuff like "Cant get next to you" and "I Heard it Through the Grapevine"
No, hehe, I'm not related to Casey Kasum... Just think I am. ;)
