Oh my word. My stepbrother Fool's girl thang has been emailing my mom. Apparently Mom and John sent Fool J a book as a birthday present, but the jail wouldn't let it be delivered because it included a CD or some nonsense, so the girl thang got in contact about having it sent to her. So she asked Mom: "Are there any things that stand out in your mind about him when he was younger? What was he like?" Mom diplomatically refrained from responding to that. I'm afraid she's always thought the kid was a bit hideous, so the girl's way off base if she's looking for shiny, fluffy memories.

This is one of my favorite stories that I worked on in college. Not my photo or article, but it was on my page, so I laid it out and wrote the headline and caption. I always liked that headline. Would you believe that we almost ran a diagram tracing the beast's path? The really sad thing is that I think they ended up killing her. Woulda happened sooner or later, I guess.

Well, it's about fucking time. I always hated that mascot. That's not my school, by the way--that's the hated rival.

Here's a picture of Will Smith, the guy who did the truant cow story I posted today, taking out a recycling bin while going over the middle for a plastic football. Damn, we had a lot of fun in that office. We were howling that day. He was pounding the fuck out of that thing. You can see paper all over the ground from previous attempts.

This was when he was taking a break from filming Wild Wild West.

This looks interesting. An advance copy was floating around the press today, so I snagged it. Vernon God Little by DBC Pierre, to be published in the U.S. in September. Toole, Salinger, and O'Connor? (Not to mention DeLillo--I actually haven't read him, though.) Wow. Will be interesting to see how it holds up to that praise.

About to check out the Starsky and Hutch game I just downloaded. I hope I can be Huggy Bear. Oh yeah.
