So I went and saw Fishbone tonight. They were really, really good, as I figured they would be, but it was kind of surreal. It's strange seeing bands that you've been listening to for 15 years but sort of lost touch with. You drive two miles from your apartment, and there you are front and center, and Angelo Moore's blowing sax in your face.

Oh, and one of the opening bands was a white funk group called Pencilgrass that played a cover of Fugazi's "Waiting Room." Yep.

Gotta love going to bed feeling fine and then waking up four hours later feeling like your head's going to explode. *snork*

Looks like the A Confederacy of Dunces movie is off. Gotta say I'm not too broken up about it. I was really afraid it was going to turn into a one-joke yukfest with Will Ferrell as Ignatius.

I feel a lot better after sleeping a good bit of the day away. Bleah, I still wish I could add another day to the weekend, though.

Oh, the one bad thing about being in the front row last night: I was diggin' the Fishbone groove and all of a sudden there was this big white, hairy ass and nutsack in my face. "FISH" on one cheek and "BONE" on the other. I couldn't figure out what the fuck was going on. At first I thought it was a roadie or someone with the band. But after the song, the drummer got on the mic and gave big ups to the brother who got up and showed his ass. Looked like they were as surprised about it as anyone.

I also just realized who the guitar player was: Rocky George from Suicidal Tendencies. I knew he looked familiar, but I couldn't place him till today.
