That reminds me of another Carlin routine. He's talking about advertising that's sexually suggestive, and he mentions some Campbell's jingle that must have been on in the early 70s: "'How do you handle a hungry man? A MANHANDLER . . .' Sounds a little freaky to me!" Then he goes on to "I'd walk a mile for a Camel" . . . hehe.
As long as it ain't gumbo, we're straight. I don't really even consider gumbo soup, though. (I have to make certain rationalizations in order to reconcile the many contradictions in my worldview.)
Soup is a great comfort food to me. I have very few limitations on what's in it, as long as I can eat it without too much picking around in bones and shells.
I don't like cold soup, though, or crazy shit like cucumber soup that is just somebody's "I've run out of ideas for a first course, let me toss something in the blender out of the crisper" soup.
Oh, man--I just had a vision of that Seinfeld episode where the police horse gets really bad gas after Kramer feeds it a bunch o' Beefaroni. I think it might have even died . . .
