Do you ever dream about places where you used to live? I dream all the time about our house in Starkville where I lived from 1980-1994. Like all the time. And we're always just about to move out of the house--like the dream isn't really about moving, but that's always the background, like we're going to start moving tomorrow or we've started packing a little but not really in earnest. Weird.

there is a town that happens in a lot of my dreams; i've never lived there, but this particular town is the setting for a lot of weird shit. there's a small college campus with a gaslit commons area that has a jellybean store, there's a segregated artists community over on teh other side of the tracks, there are big houses by the lake and small houses somewhere else and every single dream i have that has this town has the same odd sense of not really forboding, but something.

Wow, that's wild. I don't think I have a recurring fictional place in my dreams, but I have a lot of recurring dreams. Not flying or teeth falling out or being naked in school--well, I've had at least two of those, but I mean not recurring in the traditional sense. I'll be dreaming some crazy shit and I'll get the feeling that I know what's going to happen next. Or something will happen and I'll think, wait, this isn't how this is supposed to go.

I love dreams, but I've never really studied them or anything. I think I like them better not knowing what they're about.

I need a jellybean store around here.
