I know this is a subject that I've covered in detail many times, but these New Englanders are some donut-loving motherfuckers. You would not believe how many people have asked me about Krispy Kreme. "So, you have Krispy Kremes down south, right? Are they as good as they say they are? Huh? HUH? C'mon, tell me all about 'em!" I'm like, I dunno, yeah, they're good and all, but they're just donuts! But these people are rabid. And they're all atitter now that Krispy Kreme is building its first stores in the area. Apparently the grand opening of the first one, up in Mass., was a total mob-ass nutty crowd scene. And now they've moved into the Greater New Haven area. Look at this shit! You'd think a Waffle House had opened or something. Mmmmm, Waffle House . . .

Hey, on the Kirby vacuum cleaner tip: I worked for Kirby too, and that's one of my many candidates for shittiest job!!! I was one of the guys who did the demonstations. (You know, the famous Salt Test?) I went for three days of training with two other losers, and then went out with a "Van Leader" named Junebug. We didn't have anybody calling ahead--we would just drive around neighborhoods and Junebug would bound up to the doors of houses and try to get them to let one of us in for a demo. It was horrible. I did exactly one demo during my one 12-hour day as a Kirby salesman and never showed back up again. Junebug's boss called me when I didn't show up the next day and I hung up on his pathetic ass. :) I gotta write about this in more detail later--it's a chilling yet hilarious story.

my boss had a three-ring binder that she lovingly hand-wrote "kirby, U R great!!" all over the front of.
and i know that was horrible grammar, but the thought of saying "upon which she had written..." made me chortle.
