I'm really enjoying my time off. I've spent the last couple of days burning CDs for trades and listening to MSU's baseball team kick ass in the NCAA regionals. Yup, still haven't been able to shake that sports thing.

The Internet is amazing. Thanks to my online connections, I've already scored four copies -- all from different source recordings -- of the Gov't Mule concert I went to just a little over three weeks ago, and a couple of them sound really amazing. If anyone wants a copy, shoot me a line. It's one of the few concerts you'll ever hear in which the band covers Traffic, Tom Waits, and Radiohead.

I'm reading Genome: The Autobiography of a Species in 23 Chapters for one of my CPC assignments. It's not the sort of thing I'd ordinarily pick up, but it's quite interesting. It gets me thinking about all those deep questions about the beginning of the universe... I remember being about 6 and asking myself, "OK, if everything has a beginning and an end, there has to have been sometime when there was nothing, right? So where did the first 'something' come from? And what did 'nothing' look like?" It always really freaked me out. Of course, now I'm older, wiser, and know a lot more about the world... and it still really freaks me out.

I was looking through my pictures directory on the hard drive and ran across this photo. I don't think I've posted it before. It was taken near Dayton, Tennessee, the town where the Scopes Monkey Trial was held. Crazy Southerners.
