Wes and I are the only two people I know whose conversation can degenerate into peals of laughter because one of us mentioned Voivod.

Oh!

Voivod, how can you not?

But a friend of mine and I can completely lose it when Grim Reaper is mentioned.

Rock You to Hell

HAHAHAHAHAHA! I can't believe you just said that. I grew up with a guy (now my stepbrother, actually) whose nickname was always Grimmett because of his gap teeth. EVERYBODY called him that (affectionately), even people who'd never heard of Grim Reaper. DEFINITELY a laugh-worthy band.

We were also laughing about Cronos from Venom tonight. :)

Hah hah hah!!!

Oh dude. The Craptacular Metal Flashbacks are rushing at me...

Although one of my very favorite songs is "Countess Bathory" by Venom.

But Cronos - what a goober!

I remember that tune! I never really listened to Venom, but my friends and I had the Ultimate Revenge video featuring Venom, Exodus, and Slayer. Venom did "Witching Hour," "Countess Bathory," and some other stuff I can't remember. My favorite part of the whole tape was this part at the beginning where they were showing the crowd outside the venue. Typical thrash scene--lots of denim-and-leather kids getting up in the camera and screaming "SLAYER!!!"--which is funny enough in itself, but in the middle of all those kids was this old black man who stuck his face in the camera and yelled something like "BLEUUUURRRRWWWAAAAGGHHH!" Trust me, it was even funnier than the cheesy camera effects they used during the performances. I wish like hell I could find that tape, but our copy is long gone and apparently it's long out of print and impossible to find.
