Why do my pictures look different in Photoshop than they do in a browser? On the same computer, I mean--I can have the exact same file open in Photoshop and in my browser, and it'll be noticeably darker in the browser. Does it have something to do with the Adobe Gamma thing?

probably has something to do with how your 'viewing' it in photoshop....photoshop has ways of viewing it at different color levels (#'s of colors) as well as windows version view and mac version view (macs are lighter than windows).

i'm not sure where you change it somehwere in the menu

also don't forget that photoshop is smarted than browsers concerning pictures, so things often look a lot cleaner in photoshop when they look fairly compressed in the browser.

Right, thanks--that's good to remember, too--but I think what I was noticing was because I didn't have the view setting on RGB monitor.
