Hi, I came across your essay on "Hazel and the Essex" completely by
accident, but I enjoyed it very much. I was actually searching for a
dealership in San Diego called Symbolic Motor Cars
(www.symbolicmotors.com), that sells many vintage automobiles, when I
found your site. Since my name is close to "Hazel" and I'm a classic
car buff, i found your commentary very interesting!

Holy sheep shit. Reminds me of the time my dad helped some guy jump-start his car and the guy showed his heartfelt gratitude by giving Dad a photograph of his dog.

No shit! A coworker and I were discussing sending him this picture of Frank Bank, otherwise known as Clarence "Lumpy" Rutherford from "Leave It to Beaver," just to play up the vague connections aspect. But you're right -- maybe I could use photoshop to whip up a picture of Eddie Haskell shaking hands with Elmer Fudd, or worse, doing the wild thing or something...
