Remember those bad-ass blacklight posters from the '70s and '80s? Not so much the ones for specific bands, but the generic ones of the Grim Reaper riding a motorbike or a wizard on top of a mountain. Those motherfuckers ROCKED.

OK, maybe they didn't rock so much, but I'm trying to get into character. Work with me here.

You remember, right? I used to see 'em all the time at Spencer Gifts. Seems like they always had a lot of pinks, greens, and oranges. Stuff like--well, sorta like this. But like I said, with a goddamn skeleton shaking a scythe or a dragon taking a bong hit or something. Cool stuff like that.



Hmmm, I don't seem to remember ones like this, though. Probably I wasn't frequenting the right stores.

Yeah, blacklight posters were pretty cool, especially when they were featured in the forbidden back room at your local head shop. Oooo, spooky, stoney, d00de.

I always wanted a velvet Elvis. "Velvis" is what I use to call them actually. Seriously, look at how happy this girl is just by holding onto The Velvet King. I swear, it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.



ps. I always wanted my Velvis to capture him sitting on the toilet holding a bag of pork rinds in one hand and a box of Twinkies in the other. That's just HAWT!

We should take a road trip to Memphis sometime. You could score some SERIOUS Elvis gear--maybe even find a quaalude in the shag carpet at Graceland. I'll bet there are even OFFICIAL Elvis brand pork rinds.
