what's a word for a deluge of snow?

I think it's kind of funny that it's snowing all over the South and I've seen only a couple of flakes the whole time I've been up here.

Now that I think about it, though, it's probably tempting fate even to mention it.

Heh. I think the stocking-up instinct extends throughout the country. I've seen people in Virginia throwing elbows and knocking the fuck out of each other in the grocery store to get the last case of bottled water at the slightest hint of foul weather. ;)
