I was wearing a baseball cap this afternoon and Mary (she of the Aunt Bea voice) told me that it caught her eye and I had "a confederate profile." I didn't know what to make of that, so I said: "Yo mama got one. Bitch." Was that wrong?

They don't want me rooting for 'em. I am BAD LUCK when it comes to sports teams, especially baseball. I declared the Pittsburgh Pirates my team in 1979, they won the World Series, and the best they've done since then is get knocked out of the NLCS three straight years in the early '90s.

And I do root for the Cubs a good bit, which means I could be to blame for their crushing defeat last year.
