Why didn't I know that KISS has been employing an Ace Frehley impostor for months???????????????? That's SACRILEGE. It's DISGUSTING. I mean, I knew they'd already pulled the bait-and-switch thing with Eric Singer donning cat makeup and replacing Peter Criss, but COME ON. Fuck Peter Criss anyway, his "Beth"-singin' ass. This is ACE. And they've got some hack wearing his makeup?!? FOUL. Good lord. From reading a couple of articles, it looks like Ace is doing his own thing and didn't want to sign up for the KISS/Aerosmith tour of last year. So that's fine. Hire another guitarist, let him wear some Jammie the Gentle Clown makeup or something, and go about your business. But to trot some other guy out there and try to pass him off as Ace? YUCK. I know KISS has pretty much always done anything to make a buck (has Gene passed Bill Gates yet?), but GACK.

Just look at this crap! Who'd be fooled by this? I got one look at this picture and knew something was amiss.

And yes, I know that by all rights I should probably hate KISS anyway. They're tawdry, stupid, overhyped, and pretty much ridiculous. What can I say? I got the bug at six years old and haven't outgrown it yet--I still think they did some damn cool stuff 25-30 years ago. But they're pushing me.
