Gack! For the last two days I've had Lisa Simpson's strike song in my head. I'd much rather it were "See My Vest."

I just looked at the words "accepted her with open arms" and thought for all the world that it said "accepted her with open anus." I need help, kids.

Yesterday I was reminded of a weird thing that happened when I lived with my grandmother during college. One afternoon I came home to see a work crew leaving the apartment; they'd been redoing the floor tiles. And one of the guys on the crew was a little scroungy toothless dude who looked like he'd been dumped out of a cardboard box. I noticed that he was wearing a T-shirt that was about two sizes too big for him. And then I noticed that the shirt had a logo for Volume Two, the off-campus branch of the Virginia Tech bookstore. And slowly I realized that it was MY shirt. But I was so shocked that I didn't say anything. I thought maybe he'd torn his shirt or something and my grandmother had let him borrow one of mine--but when I asked her about it, she said, "NO, I didn't let him wear your shirt!!!" I said, "Well, he was sure wearin' it!" I thought it was kinda funny, but my grandmother, who even then was past 80, was PISSED. She called the management of the apartments and in no time I had $20 in hand from the head of the work crew--which was especially funny considering that it was a free shirt I got at the store's grand opening. =)

Isn't that crazy, though??? Steal a shirt one day and wear it BACK to the scene of the crime? And this was in Mississippi, so it wasn't like everybody and his brother were running around with Va. Tech T-shirts, especially not Va. Tech BOOKSTORE shirts.
